Open The Box to God’s Grace
“Is God 100% pleased with you?”
Romans 1:18-20
The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
You’re the Judge
No One is Righteous!
Romans 3:9-11
What shall we conclude then? Do we have any advantage? Not at all! For we have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under the power of sin. As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God.
Romans 3:20
Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.
If I can’t meet the standard of God then God should lower His standard for me. It might feel right now that there is:
NO HOPE!
But there is a BUT…there actually is hope.
Romans 3:21-25
But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood.
How do I gain access to God’s goodness?
Through faith in Jesus Christ To all who believe
Romans 3:23
“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”
God erases your evil, your sin and replaces it with His goodness
This is called Justification.
You're good. I am good.
The God of this universe says, I will pay for your sin that you owe. I will take this away from you—that’s Redemption.
1 John 4:9-10
This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
This is what we call Atonement.
“What do I have to do in order to get this righteousness?”
The first thing is you recognize that you can do anything to earn this:
God offers you this for free.
God offers you this by grace.
