Phrase of the Day: “It’s personal”

Quiz of the Day: How many of you think that understanding the Bible is…

  • Easy?

  • Hard?

Lie of the Day: “I could never understand the Bible on my own.”

  1. Who is the Holy Spirit?

    1. The Holy Spirit is a Person

    2. The Holy Spirit has a Position

    3. The Holy Spirit plays a Part

      1. His Role in Creation

      2. His Role in Redemption

      3. His Role in Revelation

  2. What can I do with that?

John 14:26

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.

The Big Idea: The Holy Spirit is your personal tutor for understanding God’s thoughts and your personal trainer for putting them into action.

1 Corinthians 1:10-12

These are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.  For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.  What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.

“Helper” in John 14:26 is also translated… Advocate, Counselor, or Comforter

It is the Greek Word paráklētos which literally means “called alongside.”

This Week:

  • Acknowledge His presence as tutor/trainer.

  • Ask Him to show you one lie that you believe.

  • Tell your Life Group about it, and together, find the truth to replace your lie.
