Unshakeable: Developing an Unshakeable Mind

WHAT?

Setting an UNSHAKEABLE foundation = God’s Inheritance

When HE is our foundation – when your identity and your value are on HIS terms and not yours – you will be unshakable.

1 Peter 1:13-16

So prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control. Put all your hope in the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world. So you must live as God’s obedient children. Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn’t know any better then. But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.”

SO WHAT?

However, in the midst of this shaky world, there is hope.

Characteristics of an Unshakeable Life

1. Foundation

2. Guard your thoughts

3. Guard your words

4. Guard your eyes

5. Guard your heart

(Guard your thoughts)

Proverbs 4:23

Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.

(Guard your words)

Proverbs 13:3

Those who control their tongue will have a long life; opening your mouth can ruin everything.

(Guard your eyes)

Proverbs 4:25

Let your eyes look forward; fix your gaze straight ahead.

(Guard your heart)

Proverbs 4:23

Guard your heart above all else, for it is the source of life.

NOW WHAT?

Being unshakeable doesn’t mean that we won’t face tough circumstances or even that we don’t at times have fears or weaknesses.

A faith set on a Firm Foundation—the rock on which we stand.
